Glass previews Basquiat “A Portrait” by photographer Richard Corman


AMERICAN photographer Richard Corman has released his latest work, book Basquiat A Portrait, showcasing images of former American artist Jean-Michel Basquiat, who he photographed in 1984. Consisting of 12 large format images and seven contact sheets, 79 images in total were shot at Basquiat’s studio in New York City back then.

Basquiat ‘A Portrait’ by Richard Corman

The faceted revelations throughout the photographs lead Corman to the decision of sharing this portfolio for the first time. It is a limited-edition publication of 500 books, each one signed and numbered by Corman. What is more, the book itself can be unfolded to 4 metres.

Basquiat is sold exclusively on the social network Vero, an online platform to share people’s work and to connect with artists.
