CDLP releases collaboration with Tom of Finland

STOCKHOLM-based sustainable underwear label, CDLP has released a collection in collaboration with the Tom of Finland Foundation. The range is available online now and a portion of the proceeds will go towards the Tom of Finland Foundation, the non-profit archive dedicated to the preservation and promotion of the renowned queer artist’s work. This is the first underwear collaboration by the foundation since its launch in 1984.

Upon being given access to the artist’s achieve of work, CDLP founders Christian Larson and Andreas Palm noticed that the underwear featured was essentially designed by the Touko Laaksonen (Tom of Finland), but had never been physically created. These designs were a big influence on the designs of the limited-edition Jock Strap and Tanga Brief included in the range.

Fitting with the monochromatic style of the artist’s original work, the pieces come in black and white and the waistbands are embroidered with Tom 79 and Tom 82 signatures. The underwear comes in a custom box featuring the artist’s work and is accompanied by a portrait of the artist and a limited-edition print. Like all CDLP underwear, the collection is hand-crafted sustainably using lyocell, a biodegradable organic fibre created from the wood pulp of trees.

The underwear collaboration is now available online on the CDLP store.
