Chanel introduce the Electro watch collection

UNVEILED at this year’s glittering Watches and Wonders fair, Chanel has debuted a brand-new collection of rainbow-hued watches, inspired by the fluorescent colours and futuristic glamour of the 90s music era.

Created by the brand’s Watchmaking Studio Director Arnaud Chastaingt, the performative lineup invites Chanel classics to “take turns on this stage and to draw inspiration from the codes of this world,” explains Chastaingt.

Chanel J12 X-Ray Electro

The capsule begins with the J12 X-Ray Electro. Powered by a hand-wound 3.1 calibre and limited to just 12 numbered pieces, the watch has 12 baguette-cut sapphires telling the hours with points of colours on a sapphire dial, while vibrant gemstones punctuate the bezel.

The J12 Electro Dream takes a monochrome approach to high watchmaking, available in a black or white ceramic case with 18K white gold, limited to 55 watches each. The timepiece is powered by an automatic calibre 12.1 and is accentuated with 46 baguette-cut rainbow sapphires on the bezel, along with a crown set with a brilliant-cut diamond.

Elsewhere, the J12 Electro Star dazzles with baguette-cut diamonds, with multi-hued sapphires adorning the white gold case, white gold bracelet, bezel and dial.

Lastly, rounding out the range is the Première Electro and Code Coco Electro. Powered by quartz movements, both timepieces take a more modern and minimalistic approach, the Première highlighted by a simplistic octagonal case and rainbow-coloured chain bracelet, while the Code Coco catches the eye with a neon-pink calfskin leather case.

A spectacular feat of high watchmaking, the bold lineup of designs are perfect for both collectors and Chanel-devotees looking for an ideal timepiece to match the vivid colours of spring and summer.
