Givenchy dives into the summer with its Plage collection

GIVENCHY invites you to dive into a world of relaxed sophistication with their latest pre-Fall 2023 Plage Collection. Drawing inspiration from Hubert de Givenchy’s idyllic seaside estate, Le Clos Fiorentina, the capsule offers a harmonious blend of “city to sand” swimwear, beachwear, and accessories.

In a nostalgic nod to the brand’s founder and creative director Matthew M. Williams reinvents House signatures and introduces chic variations on beloved accessories. The collection features a “straw basket” take on the new Voyou bag, Marshmallow wedges, and the classic G-Tote shoppers – perfectly marrying the charm of the French Riviera with the laid-back glamour of Williams’ Californian roots.

Revisiting the House’s swimwear heritage, Williams unearthed images of Hubert de Givenchy’s earliest beachwear collection from 1952. This successful debut solidified Givenchy as the go-to French couturier, consistently offering beachwear throughout the decades. The Givenchy Plage capsule captures this legacy in a contemporary fusion of the past and presents House signatures.

The collection artfully balances sensuality, sportiness, and ease, with daring cut-outs, sailor stripes, pearls, and pink accents. Intricate chain motifs and delicate macramé detailing further enhance the capsule’s chic, seaside aesthetic.

Givenchy’s timeless affinity for black and white takes centre stage, with the collection designed as effortlessly layerable separates. Linen, a favourite material of the founding couturier, graces bikinis and coverups in black or sandy beige, complemented by raffia bob hats and this season’s Givenchy tote.

Embodying a joyful art de vivre, the pre-Fall 2023 Plage Collection by Givenchy invites you to embrace the relaxed elegance of seaside living with a sophisticated twist.
