Glass indulges in a milk bath at Sawcliffe Manor

MILK baths are becoming more popular in the beauty world, but they’ve been around since ancient times. Cleopatra utilised the nourishing properties, and the benefits have recently become more widely known.

Using natural ingredients for skin health allows you to achieve healthy skin without using chemicals or unsafe products. Sawcliffe Manor now offers this skin-nourishing treatment in their new luxury copper bath in Sawcliffe’s natural spa.

The lactic acid in milk acts as a mild alpha hydroxy acid, which helps with exfoliation –  this helps to smooth the skin’s texture and get rid of dry, rough patches. I suffer with psoriasis and found my skin was less inflamed, softer and calmer, due to the milks nourishing properties like proteins, fat, vitamins, and minerals. The copper also has anti-inflammatory properties, improving circulation and aiding the healing of sports injury, tendinitis and arthritis.

The natural spa itself is utterly charming with an ice bucket, beautiful soaps enriched with Argan oil and a choice of hand picked herbal teas. Guests can also book a massage and use the shower and hot tub, which has lovely views of the 400 acre reserve.

Look out for the wonderful wild hares and Exmoor ponies when exploring the beautiful grounds. I would also recommend the archery lesson with brilliant Reg, who is full of local knowledge and fascinating history of the Manors land.

Sawcliffe hosts groups of up to 46 people across the manor house, three charming cottages, and a glamping yurt, making it an ideal destination for parties, weddings or any other kind of celebration. A very special place indeed with the warmest of hosts.
