EXPLORING the strong bond between dogs and humans, the Louis Vuitton Spring-Summer 2025 pre-collection by Pharrell Williams explores the day-to-day activities of the canine-keeping community.
From daily promenades to cuddles on the sofa, the latest ensemble captures the laid-back lifestyle from all angles.
Rooted in preppy codes, the collection consists of relaxed yet elevated silhouettes. Tailored, structural suits meet versatile workwear, whereas textures weave and melt together in a display of pure artistry and craftsmanship.
The collection introduces a new Damier motif, which reimagines the Maison’s chequers in the spirit of argyle. The new symbol adds flair and identity to the seasonal offering, seen as jacquard on suits, beige trench coats, knitted jumpers, and collarless jackets. Similarly, the collection’s focus on dogs reappears through a Dalmatian pattern on a shearling jacket in intarsia and with further dog-specific items.
Canines remain at the forefront with dog-show-inspired details and delicate minutiae. Suits have been carefully customised with rosette embroidery, while a meta houndstooth motif with the infinity head of a dog appears emblazoned on a jacquard blouson. Rosettes continue to embellish neckties, socks and a black velvet beret – also available in a ‘mini-me’ dog version.
Celebrating the friendship between owner and canine, the collection continues to pay homage to our furry friends with photographic dog portraits appearing on silk pocket squares and bandanas. Accessories continue to steal the show with sophisticated jewellery pieces such as an aged gold-finish dog bone bracelet and a laurel-and-pearl brooch.
More dog-themed ideas arrive in the form of a Dog Collar Loafer in black or burgundy glazed leather with a metal dog-collar buckle. Williams has also introduced new finishes for the LV Trainer – now seen in brown, black or white ultra-supple vintage-effect leather. Meanwhile, bags such as the Keepall, Soul Trunk and Montsouris Messenger are embellished with paw-shaped charms and hardware.
However, the collection could not be complete without some couture for our canines. A lead, collar, harness, plastic bag holder and thermos feature paw-infused LVERS logos and leather appliqués for additional charm.
