PFW AW14: John Galliano

Fashion house John Galliano hosted a catwalk show to feature their upcoming AW14 collection at the Palais de Tokyo in Paris during Paris Fashion Week.  The collection was a mixture of masculine and feminine looks designed with a luxurious but eccentric edge.

Looks included the use of different textiles such as velvet, neoprene and beading, and the garments themselves ranged from flared skirts and jacket silhouettes nostalgic of early Dior mixed in with the modern day high-waisted pantsuit for the working woman who is stylish and bold.  Palettes were in autumnal hues of burgundies, blues, and oranges.  Accessories included gloves, belts, clutches and fur stoles.

Bill Gaytten is the current Creative Director for the fashion label John Galliano.  He replaced John Galliano in 2011 and had worked with John for twenty-three years.  He is a British designer who first studied architecture at the Bartlett School of Architecture, his first job being with Victor Edelstein.  He then went on to work with Galliano at Dior and his own private label John Galliano.
