IF THERE is one brand you need to get to know fast – it’s Casablanca. Since the launch of the Paris-based label in 2018 by Charaf Tajer, its popularity has exponentially grown, quickly cementing itself as a cult label. The clothes scream luxury while transporting you to the French Riviera and chaotic nights in the Moroccan city it is named after. However, for the AW21 collection, Tajer is taking us to experience the fast-paced lifestyle of Monaco.
Casablanca AW21
Named Casablanca Grand Prix, the brand is creating an opulent cocktail of sports-cars, casinos and the intoxicating vibe of the South of France for this collection. Whether in the car or on the sidelines cheering for their favourite driver, the brand is giving us a 2021 vintage dream.
Casablanca AW21
Combining the sportswear aesthetic that is infused in the Golden Age of Formula 1 in the 1960s with the glamour and decadence of The Casino de Monte-Carlo, tracksuits are worn beside tuxedos, and casual trousers are seen amongst evening dresses – arguably, widening the audience of this collection, giving everyone’s taste an opportunity to indulge in something from Casablanca.
Casablanca AW21
Rooted in prints, even giving Versace a run for their money, the AW21 collection debuts a new car-inspired diamond pattern seeing itself in classic silk shirts and structured outerwear. Racer-esque one-piece tracksuits, checkered fur coats that are reminiscent of winning flags, and structured wool knits are pieces of the puzzle that make up this fantasy collection.
Casablanca AW21
Giving women want they want, Casablanca introduces their first full women’s collection alongside the menswear. Having briefly entered the sphere of womenswear in last May with a capsule collection for online retailer Net-A-Porter, this sees them announce themselves as contenders. Not only showing leisurewear and accessories but also evening attire that deserves a place on the red carpet when restrictions lift.
Casablanca AW21
You may now ask the question, what can’t Casablanca do? Well, the answer so far is nothing. This collection also gives us a glimpse at the next chapter of the brand’s collaboration with New Balance, introducing the XC-72 – set to release later this year.
During a time where travel seems impossible and far from a possibility, Casablanca has given us a quick holiday with this collection, taking us from the bleak winter to the heat of Monaco – the only thing that’s missing is a tan.
