Stone Island and New Balance’s Made in the USA sneaker drops

STONE ISLAND and New Balance have returned with the latest continuation of their long-standing collaboration. With a new take on the 998 trainer, the partnership has drawn inspiration from the Stone Island archive.

The Raso Gommato fabric was first introduced by the founder of Stone Island, Massimo Osti in the summer of 1984 and has now been reimagined for the newest release, maintaining close alignment with the Stone Island aesthetic.

The shoe is the first in their history of collaborations to be made in the USA, on the home turf of New Balance. With the classic 998 trainer being first introduced in 1993, this release has a nostalgic nod to the reputable history of the two brands.

The brands have produced a shoe that honours their identity while remaining new and technologically relevant, drawing inspiration from their archive.
