The Dorchester marks renovation with special slipper

TO MARK the occasion of The Dorchester’s renovation, the illustrious hotel has launched new slippers in partnership with Edhèn Milano. The collaboration marks a blending of the classic and the modern in more ways than one. The Dorchester promptly won acclaim after first opening its doors on Park Lane in Mayfair in 1931 and, eighty five years later, the Italian shoe designer has been equally successful in establishing its brand soon after being founded by Filippo Fiora and Filippo Cirulli.

The designers have steadfastly maintained their reputation – witness the Comporta shoe launched in 2020 and now its slippers – just as The Dorchester continues to build on  its status with a comprehensive renovation. This started with The Promenade, Artists’ Bar and Vesper Bar in January of this year and it will continue when new rooms and suites are unveiled in June.

With refined elegance being a characteristic of both the hotel and the designers, it is fitting that Fiora and Cirulli should find inspiration for their slippers in the new interiors of The Dorchester. Spurred by the ‘sleepwear as daywear’ trend, the slipper comes in two signature styles: a light heather blue with handmade and silk triple bow; and a darker blue velvet with cream trim, which is inspired by The Dorchester Rose — the hotel’s specially selected rose, from the designer florist Philip Hammond – and its pale blush colouring.
