A SMART new skincare line from Sweden is set to make waves with its message of inclusivity – as well as its hardworking ingredients and gorgeous product design. Melyon is the creation of Roger Dupé whose own West African heritage was the starting point for the four-product range.
“In Togo and Ghana, where my parents are from, skincare is a form of self-love and something people have been doing for generations,” he says. “Melyon is my way of paying homage to that upbringing, by offering products that will make people, regardless of their skin tone, feel included.”

Featuring a Milk Cleanser, Detox Serum, Day Cream and Night Cream, the vegan and cruelty-free products contain goodies such as hyaluronic acid, niacinamide, vitamin A and ginger root extract. The star of the show, at the centre of each concoction, is Baobab oil, which Dupé describes as “our core ingredient – it has many amazing properties that are great for your skin, hair and body.”
The brand’s weighty minimalist bottles, which would add a flash of glamour to any dressing table, were also inspired by the majestic tree which Dupé encountered in person during a trip to Africa. “I wanted my packaging to reflect the Baobab tree in some form. I wanted the strength and beauty of it to be translated into a luxurious bottle that was hard to forget.”

The creams themselves have a wonderfully rich yet refreshing texture, sinking into the skin immediately and leaving a light glow. The gentle fragrance of each, also adds an enjoyable therapeutic touch.
Having tried and tested various formulations over the years, Dupé’s final line-up is certainly one worth seeking out.
