OUR EXPECTATIONS have certainly been met following Dion Lee’s transcendence of physical clothing to digital. Known for their experimental, sci-fi-esque garments, Lee’s work often marries futurism with the modern day, and their latest venture appearing as nothing less than a natural progression for the brand.
The first “Dion Lee Code” collection focuses on the idea of “façade,”encapsulating a parallel world where individuals are free to move between identities while remaining anonymous. The NFTs themselves have been designed by Lee and latterly transformed into universal 3D files by digital artist Sam Walker.
Dion Lee Code: Façade
Consisting of five garments and two full looks, the collection centralises gender-fluidity, with corsets, frock coats and tanks being focal pieces. The recurring use of semi-sheer lace furthermore enhances the idea of a façade, as though it may be vaguely transparent, the identity of the wearer is still obscured and obstructed.
