THE creative director of Italian luxury brand Gucci, Alessandro Michele has confirmed the location for Cruise 2020 show taking place in May. Inspired by memories of his childhood and his past shows which took place in artistically and historically symbolic spots, the show will be held at  Capitoline Museums, the oldest museum complex in the heart of Rome.

Likewise, the previous Pre-Fall 2019 collection were held in similar historical  locations such as the archaeological parks of Pompeii, Herculaneum and Selinunte which delivered a contemporary tableau vivant. Gucci shows also have taken place at the Dia-Art Foundation in New York City, the Cloisters of Westminster Abbey in London, the Palatine Gallery at Pitty Palace in Florence and the Promenade Des Alyscamps in Arles.
Michele chooses to show Gucci’s collections in these locations in order to reflect the brand’s unique artistic heritage. Not only this, but also by using these settings in a contemporary way, attracts today’s generation.
