New York City-based Designer Giovanna Randall and her Chief Creative Officer Rachel Fleit keep the whimsy alive at HONOR, as always presenting a fantastical and wholly feminine collection. For SS15, Randall’s concept was derived from the idea of girlish love, a sabotage of filial order for a romantic tryst with a mature artist-type, as well as the beauty of vintage, palatial architectural cornices, and the playful decadence of delectable, tiered confections.
There were eyelet cutout skirts, tops and capelets; pearlised rose stitched sleeveless dresses and single breasted coats; flouncy fleur-de-lis designed dresses with sheer décolletage and sleeves; in-cut neoprene dresses and skirts; rose print, off-white ballerina-style dresses of silk and chiffon; pearl collars; pastels; flaring bell sleeves; fluorescent “candy” detailing; fishtail pant legs; bows; neon; knife-pleat tulle princess collars and a grand closing trio of Cinderella-worthy gowns. All in a whimsical New York minute.
