Gin aficionados can taste their way along a sensory journey of juniper drinks past, present and future at the Worship Street Whistling Shop, one of London’s leading cocktail bars.
The Juniper Journey is a unique cocktail experience by Tanqueray Gin held exclusively in The Dram Shop, a gin-inspired space within the bar. Curated and led by The Whistling Shop’s founders, world-renowned mixologists Tristan Stephenson and Tom Aske; sessions will take place on four consecutive Tuesdays in November until Tuesday 3rd December.
Each session, visitors experience first-hand the craft, passion and innovation that has shaped the cocktails we know and love with never-seen-before libations uncovered from the very recipe books that Tanqueray founder Charles scribed in the 1800s; right up to the secrets of future cocktail-making emerging from Tristan’s cutting-edge experimental laboratory.
Glass Magazine attended a recent session and treated to bespoke serves which was devised to offer a distinctive gin tasting journey. Starting with a unique liquor distilled from an old recipe which made us reminisce of the past, we then savoured a classic favourite and finished off with an exclusive never tasted before cocktail.
To end the evening we took away a bottle of limited edition shoe polish created by Tristan from a recipe devised by Charles Tanqueray in 1843, when he turned his attention not only to creating an award-winning gin but to perfectly polished shoes too. Make sure you turn up in your leather black shoes as complimentary shoe shining sessions takes place at the event courtesy of premium London establishment Shoe Shine Service.
Tickets are priced at £15.00 and available to buy exclusively on YPlan (tonight’s going out app), 48 hours before each event.
