GLENFIDDICH, the world’s most awarded single malt Scotch whisky, has released Glenfiddich 1959 to celebrate the year Aston Martin first entered F1. The ultra-rare whisky is available exclusively at London’s Harrods from this month, just in time for the 2025 British Grand Prix.

First revealed at the Las Vegas Grand Prix, the whisky marks the partnership between Glenfiddich and the Aston Martin Aramco Formula One Team, and as such, only a handful of bottles will be released worldwide.
The liquid comes from a rare sherry butt laid down in 1959, offering a rich and layered profile that only comes from time. On the nose, oak, aged leather, beeswax and earth, while on the palate, there’s oaky spice, dark chocolate, cloves, dates and a dry, tannic finish.
“This limited edition 1959 bottling represents a pivotal moment in history, the year Aston Martin first entered F1 and won Le Mans,” said Glenfiddich Malt Master Brian Kinsman. “To honour this milestone, we delved deep into the Glenfiddich archives and unearthed this exceptional expression. It captures the spirit of innovation and excellence that both Glenfiddich and Aston Martin have upheld for decades.”

To house the whisky, Glenfiddich has commissioned Glasgow designer John Galvin to create a bespoke case. Drawing on both brands’ histories, it will feature materials like ash and copper and design cues inspired by Aston Martin’s engineering.
Lawrence Stroll, Executive Chairman of Aston Martin Formula One Team, added: “To produce a rare whisky from the same year Aston Martin made its F1 debut is a wonderful way to celebrate the history of both brands. This special edition whisky is an important moment for our partnership.”
To further mark the occasion, there will be a suitably exclusive dinner tonight at Harrods to celebrate the collaboration, bringing together guests from the worlds of whisky, motorsport and design.
