DESIGNED by Francesca Amfitheatrof, the latest high jewellery collection for the French Maison explores mythological influences looking toward fantastical creatures as a means of representation for the modern customer.
Separated into five different “universes:” liberty, grace, fantasy, destiny and radiance, the collection infuses allegorical sensibilities Amfitheatrof hopes will resonate with the Louis Vuitton woman: “Like a phoenix rising from the ashes to take flight, or a dragon breathing protective fire, the Louis Vuitton woman exudes amazing strength, energy and optimism…It is that very femininity…that I wanted to embody in Spirit.” With 125 pieces, the collection stands as the Masion’s largest high jewellery collection to date.
Louis Vuitton Spirit – Radiance
Over an impressive range of designs, triangular motifs and Vuitton Vs are repeated, referencing the shape of an arrow. Adding a further element of historical folklore, the triangular shapes nod to the earliest graphic symbol created by humans, which remains referential of pushing us forward.
Louis Vuitton Spirit – Destiny
The cohesive range of influences are materialised with a stunning range of jewels, including a 65 karat Tsavorite which took over three years to source, sapphires from Sri Lanka, emeralds from Colombia, and rubies from Mozambique. This, combined with a staggering 40,000 hours of intricate work by the Parisian ateliers, culminates in a truly awe-inspiring collection.
