How much strong inspirational messages can one turn into reality with a fashion show? That must’ve been the objective when creating this neon – soon to be revolutionary – swimwear collection.

The clothes, the message as well as the models each stole the spotlight, strutting down the runway as the cheers grew higher and higher with each look. Models of all shapes, races and sizes came down the in funky neon-coloured beachwear. Contesting the idea of a “beach body” by representing bodies who are considered not good enough for the catwalk or the beach. NYFW has been crowned the most diverse to date, and Chromat was definitely leading the pack proving everybody wrong.

The garments came in fresh neon colours with plenty of underboob, zips and shiney sarongs almost looking like a cape. The hero’s of the planet rather as the models were crafted with sustainable lycra, fish netting, up-cycled fabrics and plastic waist as accessories. Keen observer might have noticed how the accessories, first floral, were replaced for plastic alternatives such as bottles and even a water jug as the show proceeded. A clear reference to what is happening to the vegetation in the oceans.

She drew inspiration for her Climatic collection from her time she spent living in Miami, confronted with the disastrous aftermath of global warming. Giving the audience a glimpse into the future with her final look: a lovely fushia gown, with a train made of fish netting.
