ISABEL MARANT emerges out of lockdown with a positive outlook, charging her men’s collection with a colourful current. Filmed at the Centre National de la Danse in northeastern Paris, the video that accompanies her men’s collection is somewhat a celebration of long-awaited freedom. Models Alpha Dia and Braien Vaiksaar dance gleefully in the building’s concrete passageways, embodying a renewed sense of vitality in their vibrant ensembles.
Remaining true to her bohemian aesthetic, Marant’s spring collection will undoubtedly appeal to the trendy types typically found flaneuring in the cobbled streets of Le Marais. Simple silhouettes meet vivid infusions of colour and loud ikat patterns, which are muted by accompanying neutral tones.
Featuring chunky knits, tie-dyed shirts, and relaxed carrot fit trousers, the collection gives off an air of nonchalance. Not to mention the cool and covetable bucket hats and windbreakers, which radiate a retro, sporty vibe. While Marant’s looks are effortlessly stylish, they also have comfort and ease in mind – what more could we possibly want?
In an expression of optimism, Marant has us all pining for new beginnings – admittedly, in pinks and purples if possible.
