HONOURING one of the most notable creative-cross-activists of our time, The Vivienne Foundation has been established by the late Dame’s eponymous label, to not only honour the life and accomplishments of one of the world’s most beloved designers, but also push her provocative ethos into the future.
Plastered across many of her clothes and themes of many of her runway shows were messages of climate activism, anti-capitalism and equality. The mother of punk, Vivienne Westwood left behind not just a legacy of dreamlike fashion design, but one of action, inspiring many to look more carefully to the larger establishments that surround us.

Following the announcement of her death last month, the design house has established the foundation built upon four pillars of change shouted by Westwood herself: halt climate change, stop war, defend human rights and protest capitalism.
The soul purpose of the foundation, besides cementing one of the most enigmatic designer’s inspiring legacy, is to work with non-profit organisations amongst others to encourage education, progression, and ultimately change across each of the four pillars.
“STOP climate change. This is a fight for the very existence of the human race. And that of the planet. The most important weapon we have is public opinion. Become a freedom fighter” – Vivienne Westwood
