FOR over 40 years, Amouage has occupied a rare position in the high perfumery space. Founded in Oman in 1983, the house has now launched the Essences collection, a line that continues its decades of craft.
Here, the concentrates have been infused for six months in aged Australian sandalwood chips, with the alcohol maturing separately in handcrafted oak barrels in France, and it’s this extended ageing that allows the perfumes to settle and deepen in intensity.

Amouage Essences Fragrances
The latest chapter of the collection, Essences Act II, offers three new fragrances brought to you by Chief Creative Officer Renaud Salmon. As the brand notes, each reflects on time through a geometric form: a line, a point, and a circle, and is interpreted by a different perfumer.
Line 618, created by Nathalie Lorson, focuses on notes of woods and leather. Pierre Negrin’s Remain balances intensity with warmth, while Julien Rasquinet’s Sequence completes the trio, combining fruit and spice, which develops into oud and leather. The perfumes are presented in the sculptural Essences flacon, designed, as the haute perfumery house says, to reflect the collection’s geometric language. Through Essences Act II, we see Amouage continuing its considered approach to modern perfumery.
