LANVIN, the prestigious French couture house, opened its new flagship store at 855 Madison Avenue in New York City on the 20th of July. Bernard Dubois, the architect of the store, often references past classical art movements within his work.
This boutique is no exception. Beautifully adorned custom fixtures and furniture fill the store demonstrating Dubois’ inspiration from the Neoclassical and Art Deco movements.
Using a range of textures and materials throughout the store, such as oxidised and hammered brass, limestone and beige velvet, Dubois has conceived an architectural chef-d’oeuvre for Lanvin. The new architectural aesthetic reigns in a contemporary era of retail operations for the Maison.
The new Lanvin store will contain pieces from the men’s and women’s ready-to-wear collections, footwear, accessories and Lanvin lab. The lab acts as a private salon within the boutique, designed specifically for occasion wear fittings.
The flagship store reiterates the longevity and prestige of the Maison in light of its impending autumnal collection, Edition Soir. This upcoming capsule collection is committed to elegant evening wear and will exhibit the timeless appeal of the Maison.
With Lanvin continuing to expand its retail operations with boutiques opening shortly in locations such as Saudi Arabia and Florida, there is no doubt that Dubois’ architectural design choices will continue to impress.
