SHINY MATERIALS, bold colours, provocative slogans: Annakiki’s MFW SS19 collection boldly manifested the strong character of the brand. The catwalk, hosted in the historic Museo della Permanente building, was a rage of emotions, leaving guests enchanted by the spirit of the show.
Annakiki embraced experimentation at its finest, playing on the contrast of colours and materials. The collection featured all shades of pink, from a rose leather coat with stud embellishments to an all-leather sweatshirt/sweatpants look or a head-to-toe fuchsia ensemble. The designer, Anna Yang, ironically used liquid-effect materials, such as PVC, to accentuate the idea of an artificial luxury and nonconformity.
Glass particularly remarks the bright yellow gloves accessorising the all-pink 1960s look, and the glamorous black suit embellished with hundreds of crystals.
SS19 collection truly captured the contemporary attitude to fashion and reconsidered the idea of femininity in a modern style. Some of the conventional effortless outfits were reimagined in eccentric shapes with a spark of glitter: a Fashion Glitch, as the show was entitled. Annakiki challenges our understanding of couture in a way that is provocative yet uncanny magnetic, luring everyone to their cult of unstoppable modernity.
