THE Burberry Here We Are exhibition has travelled cross-continent from its original home of the Old Sessions House in Clerkenwel,l London, across to Hong Kong, bringing an insight into British culture. Located at a space on 20 Queen’s Road Central, the display features a collection of over 90 works by some of the most influential photographers of the last century, old and new.

Alongside the plethora of pictures which encapsulate British society and the urban-rural juxtapositions of the isles, the September 2017 Collection complements the imagery as the fashions retreat back to archived silhouettes and the classic heritage check. Modernising looks by using classic patterning to emblazon oversized totes and baseball caps as well as incorporating materials such as plastic, chief designer Christopher Bailey has curated the exhibition alongside the pieces to paint a portrait of Burberry’s innovative direction towards merging ages to create a new wave of mode.

Mindful of Burberry’s impact on style within contrasting cultures is how Bailey has reinvented Burberry as of late, conscious of a post-modern Britain. Localising style inspirations to the United Kingdom translates effectively across the globe and the Here We Are touring exhibition gives those within Hong Kong a chance to understand the lifestyles further.
