Harrods celebrate in Shoe Heaven

It’s been keeping us on our toes with excitement ever since it opened its gilded doors back in August and last night Harrods celebrated its latest venture with a divine shoe-spangled blow-out. The perfect way to see London Fashion Week out with style, when Glass hears exclusive cocktail party, we don’t shy away, especially when the cocktails are being held in the world’s largest luxury shoe destination – Harrods Shoe Heaven.

While VIPs, from models Suki Waterhouse, Jourdan Dunn and Edie Campbell to shoe designers Manolo Blahnik, Nicholas Kirkwood and Rupert Sanderson, brushed shoulders, we took it all in at the same time toasting Louis Roederer champagne to another successful season in London.

Soon after we found the cocktail trolleys, savouring a Dry Martini or two mixed by the world’s finest bartenders, then it was on to the DJ booth just as Mark Ronson spurred the crowd to put on their dancing shoes right there and then, in the middle of Harrods no less, something which Glass never imagined we’d be doing anytime soon.

Moving on, we willingly sampled the truffle canapés whilst in awe of the Silver Linings Collection, the heavenly 37-piece collection of silver “icon” shoes, based on each designers signature shoe. As our night came to and end, we found it hard to leave the David Collins Studio designed space too swiftly, making sure to soak up all of the Harrods glitz and glam that we could. No doubt, we’ll be heading back to Shoe Heaven in no time.
