THE theme for the Armani Privé show for Haute Couture Fall 2017 was Mystery. Which can mean a lot of different things to everyone. For instance, it was a mystery as to why Vogue Italian editor, Franca Sozzani, was taken so suddenly from us and the collection was dedicated and honoured the late journalist who unfortunately died in 2016.
A mystery can be disturbing and undesirable or, in contrast, exciting and thrilling, luckily for Armani’s Fall 2017 couture collection it was the latter.
Overall, the majority of garments had a somewhat suited-look and were structured in shimmery purple and teal plunging blazer and fitted top with matching trousers. Similarly, there was a grey printed suit which also came in a top and skirt combination. Both colours and prints were also bought together to create an equally stunning outfit which was topped with calf-length, tight-style boots.
Crocodile print in white, hanging embellishments, tulle skirts as well as the popular digital print designs were seen throughout the runway.
One of Glasses favourite from the show was the tight yet relaxed dress. In a toned down pink colour with very discreet sheer black net coving – so discreet that you have to be standing in front of the model to see it. The one shoulder dress was coved with a mass of the black net which had blue, black and pink beading embellishments in all different sizes.
A range of black apparels closed the show pushing the boundaries with its designs, materials and silhouettes. Armani’s fall collection was different from previous collection as it explored a variety of different skills and pushed the boundaries. It’s a mystery that after all this time we can still be pleasantly surprised with Armani Privé.
