SOUTH Korean designer, SONGZIO, debuted his SS18 menswear collection at the BFC Showspace. Soft music like the kind played in a spa, murmured in the background as the crowds took their seats, transporting us to what felt like a hotter climate. The collection presented certainly did that and it wasn’t one to miss.
The models’ hair was styled in a slick, sophisticated manner with perfect beach waves giving a ‘50s French Riviera aesthetic. This vintage vibe appeared throughout the show especially in a white and blue linen suit paired with white criss-cross sandals look. Similarly, there were orange and white pinstripe suits which also came in wide-legged tailored shorts. The same styles and cuts were seen on his SS17 runway, however, Zio Song, was able to update and create something different for this season.
A Glass favourite was the white and black high-neck button, kimono-style jackets. Matched with wide-leg trousers with tassels adorning the side lining. The designer’s Korean background was expressed throughout the garments along with western style references too, making the collection one for all.
Sleeve ruching, red studded leather jackets, pleated jackets and sheer shirts were seen and the mixing of silhouettes, materials and colour flowed created a classic yet modern collection.
