IT’S almost time for celebrations and Maison Chaumet is early this year, releasing a trilogy of books introducing the culture that is Chaumet, as text and illustrations take the reader through a journey of discoveries from all over the world.
The first part of the trilogy, written by art historian Berenice Geoffroy-Schneiter, unveils the exotic and remote locations stretching from Asia to Africa to Russia, supplying the maison with decades worth of inspiration for their eponymous high jewellery collection.
Mémoire Triologie
As the title may suggest, Crown Jewels – written by curator Sophie Motsch – hones in on the regal ties between Maison Chaumet and European royalty, been commissioned numerous sets that are still in existence today. These treasures have been handed down from one generation to the next becoming true heirloom pieces and are still being worn during extravagant events or tour the world in traveling exhibitions.
Concluding the set is Figures of Style written by art historian Julie Verlaine, honouring women but more particular the Chaumet women, attaching their personal style and taste to the brand and in doing so leaving their legacy on the jewellery.
