Milan Menswear AW15: Bottega Veneta

Tomas Maier has continued his reign as one of the menswear designer’s most harmoniously attune with what fashion’s key menswear demographic really want, once again this season. Nonchalant and very luxury, Maier for Bottega was a beautifully curated show of inspiration – inspiration for the man who wants to start pushing the envelope with his style choices. Maier’s man is liberated, knows what’s best for him and does it all with ease in lax trench coats covering open collared shirts, complete with scarf shrugged over.

Colour wise, not one of the boyish ensembles made a misstep, united in dusky jewel tones and fitted with suave optional extras such as ostrich carryalls and signature woven leathers. Things became all the more characteristic of Bottega Veneta finery when these opulent touches were wonderfully paired with jeans and track pants. Finespun blazers and bombers of chalky suede made for some excellent highlights in a collection of winter warmers that can already take home the award for the most approachable luxury offering in Milan so far this season.

For us, all 38 looks emerged as a pick-a-mix of luxury menswear picks that will keep Bottega’s number one customer busy for a long while now.
