More than just a place to stay, this boutique property feels like a cultural statement, channelling the identity of the famed “Jewel City” through art, food and community. During my stay, it became clear how cleverly The Glenmark balances style with substance.

Inside, The Glenmark unfolds like a curated gallery. Striking artwork by resident talents animates the lobby, making check-in feel warm and welcoming. My guest room, also artfully put together, offers an immediate sense of calm, with a Nespresso machine for a morning espresso, a generous cloud-like bed for unwinding at night, and windows framing the Verdugo Mountains – a view I marvelled over every time.
The Glenmark offers vibrant spaces for both locals and guests to sample delicious dining and drinks. At Olia, the hotels signature restaurant, Mediterranean and French Provençal flavours with a modern, local twist are served to guests.
For me, my evening began at the Lobby Bar, where the faint oak of Irish whiskey and smoky mezcal filled the air, setting a lively backdrop for conversation. But the most captivating moments came at the Mya Rooftop Lounge, where the hum of conversation quieted as the sky burned orange and pink, and the first lights of Los Angeles flickered on in the distance.

Mornings unfolded at the sidewalk-facing Starbucks café, where the aroma of freshly ground beans drifted into the street and locals mingled with guests. A quick stop at the fitness centre afterwards, Peloton bikes spinning beneath skylights, brought balance before heading out.

Minutes from Griffith Park, Universal Studios and the Americana at Brand, The Glenmark is ideally placed for exploration. Yet as I settle into the hotel, it was just as tempting to hang out within its walls, a cosy retreat where art, design and hospitality merge into a polished, distinctly Glendale experience.
