Glass Man Launch x Supa Model Management London Fashion Week Men’s Party at Novikov, Mayfair

ROUNDING off LFWM, Glass collaborated with international modelling agency Supa Model Management to celebrate with a night of canapes, bespoke D1 Gin cocktails and the best DJs in the UK.

Held at Novikov Restaurant and Bar, the event marked the launch of Glass Man as a standalone publication and was a timely fit within the London Fashion Week Men SS20 – providing the perfect opportunity to honour this exciting time. In a new chapter for Glass, our new and extended Glass Man provides an editorial scope into high-fashion menswear, as well as film, music, luxury travel and investment art. The guests dressed the part for the event, making it one of the most fashionable events of Men’s Fashion Week. The night was one of our most successful events yet and attendance included actor Jack McEvoy, fashion designer Edeline Lee, reality TV star Eyal Booker, actresses Isabella Charlotta Poppius and Maude Hirst, actor, Anand Desai-Barochia, magician James Dein and model Kirk Newmann to name but a few.

Collaborating with Supa Model Management for this event was an honour. The exclusively men’s only modelling agency in the heart of London, Supa manages renowned models including Krow, Jeremy Meeks, Clement Chabernaud and Arthur Gosse, and works alongside brands including Gucci, Valentino, and Burberry, making them an ideal collaboration for the launch of Glass Man. Founder and fashion industry veteran Charlie Clark is also featured within the glossy pages of Glass Man, where he discusses his progressive approach to model management and how he is redefining the industry. Having been able to interview Charlie for our latest issue, and then work alongside him in celebration of its release, has been a privilege and a delight for Glass.

VIP guests left with specially designed Glass Man tote goodie bags filled with our latest issue, travel kits from the French men’s skincare brand Horace as well as D1 cold infusion delights. Providing contemporary grooming essentials for men, Horace prides itself on creating luxury products at a reasonable price-point. With products for hair, body and shaving, the brand is renowned for its fresh approach to men’s grooming. Needless to say, the French are experts in skin care, and this shows with Horace. Additionally, the bag also included DJ’s Cold Infusion Pockets, signature botanicals for cold infusion of vodka, gin, soda, or tonic, along with DJ’s own signature stirring spoon – everything you need to make the perfect cocktail in mere minutes.

Entertainment for the night was provided by talented DJs;  Melvo Baptiste, Archie Hamilton, Lauren Lo Sung and Leebo Freeman. Delivering an eclectic mix of sound for the evening, the DJs delivered on creating a night of music that invoked the perfect mood for the event.

Melvo Baptiste @melvobaptiste picked up DJing after visiting his uncle, Norman Jays’ Sunday night BBC Radio London show. Inspired by his musical upbringing of soul, rare groove, funk and disco, Melvo began his career on a weekly radio show on Mi-Soul. Since 2017, Baptiste has presented the Glitterbox radio show, which is now played on over 40 stations globally. His fun and upbeat presence is well loved and his passion for rare groove has seen him play at Suncebeat, Defected Croatia and Lovebox. Baptiste and his incredible tunes provided the ultimate crowd setting for the evening.

The London based DJ/Producer and three-time label owner Archie Hamilton @ArchieBHamilton is now one of the industry’s most sought-after artists. Establishing his name within the house and techno genre, Hamilton has now made regular appearances at global event brand FUSE, London’s Fabric, Ibiza’s Amnesia and Privilege. He has also played at international festivals, Sonus, ADE and Sonar. Playing the best of house music, Hamilton worked the crowd of models and fashion industry notables with ease and set the tone impeccably for the rest of the night ahead.

Bringing the ultimate fusion of warm textures and stripped-back percussions, Liverpool based DJ and Producer Lauren Lo Sung @laurenlosung stunned the crowd with her musical flare. With a career boasting accolades like Mixmag’s One to Watch, DJ Mag’s Get To Know and Liverpool Echo’s DJ Of The Year, we were honoured to have her play at the event. With hugely successful Eps, both solo and in collaboration, under her belt, Lauren now is a well respected and heavily supported figure in the industry. Her LOLiFE brand is steadily establishing itself as a fun and inclusive space for like-minded party goers and is well known for fostering up-and-coming talent.

Finally, model and DJ Leebo Freeman @leebothestampede found love for music when he started drumming at a young age. An appreciation for music grew as he learnt the variety of drumming and this led him to ’70s and ’80s funk and disco records. Pairing his love for drumming and ’70s and ’80s era music, Freeman now programmes raw drum machine grooves with looped disco samples, and hissing percussion and deep techy chords. Together they make for a flawless music vibe. His set, which culminated the evening, was an impeccable reflection of this talent.

For this event, we were very excited to collaborate with D1 Gin, a luxury spirit retailer which blends the arts of distillery with contemporary art. The multi-award winning company is known for its iconic Floral Skull, from the series of artworks by international artist Jacky Tsai, and originally made famous by Alexander McQueen. Matching its wonderful selection of gins with their own cold-infusions, D1 provided a list of bespoke cocktails for the night, delighting and satisfying each and every thirsty guest.

The night was captured by photographer Toby Shaw @tobyshawphoto. Known for his dynamic portraiture style and medium film format, Shaw has worked for numerous celebrities, fashion brands, and magazines. Putting Glass Man Launch x Supa Model Management under a modern lens, Shaw’s photography perfectly chronicles the style and character of our guests.
