EMBRACING attitudes of contemporary masculinity, the new Louis Vuitton classics for the men’s leather goods range has been released by Virgil Abloh. Designed to be both desirable and suited to today’s need for practicality, the collection does this while remaining faithful to the design codes of the brand – the collection is Louis Vuitton, modernised.
The new Mini Soft Trunk
Virgil Abloh’s reimagined Pochette Volga
For inspiration, the designer delved into the House’s archives before deciding to rework and redesign three iconic Louis Vuitton bags: the chic Steamer, the Soft Trunk and the Pochette Volga. The Steamer, originally created in 1901, is reinterpreted as a fashionable and functional business bag. The Soft Trunk, while retaining its signature metallic finishes, now comes in a supple leather version that hugs the body and is available in a miniature version too. The small yet capacious Pochette Volga is another hybrid design, featuring a detachable chain handle that can be used either as a small bag or a fashionable wallet.

Fashionable and functional – the Louis Vuitton Steamer bag
The permanent editions of these four bags have now been released in the Monogram Eclipse range, and will be included in all Virgil Abloh’s collections for Louis Vuitton Men from this season onwards. Materials and colours will evolve with every collection, reinterpreted to compliment the garments they accompany. These key Louis Vuitton accessories from years past are back and here to stay.
