MFW SS26: Ferrari

MILAN, ITALY – Rocco Iannone’s Ferrari is making a success of its apparel business. So much so that it’s been able to open an atelier in Milan’s historical city centre, a showroom in the heart of town, and produce a ready-to-wear collection filled with modern offerings.

Admirers of Iannone’s sharp tailoring and simply elegant dresses will instantly recognise his signatures: silk canvas, tussah silk, cashmere gauze, silk moiré, and denim options—if anything, the pieces here were even more reduced. For a bit of fun, he incorporated materials that express their quality through color: shades of white, from butter to optical, alongside rust and magma red.

The movement begins with the blank canvas of elongated dresses and loose-fitting tailoring, flowing shirts and cargo pants; continues with a vigorous interlude of sponged leathers, acid-etched denim, and airbrushed knits for boldly designed pieces; and concludes with sinuous, sculptural fluidity in a silvery, absolute shimmer. Reduction leads to a focus on a clothing system that is both pragmatic and assertive.

Accessories complete the lineup: pumps in canvas or wrapped in clusters of thin leather cords; square-toed driving shoes; the soft La Ferrari Dino Bag with rounded profiles and the angular Nello The Ferrari Tool Case; jewels shaped like bolts, padlocks, and work tools. It’s classy and uncluttered, and it sort of worked overall.
