As one of leading menswear houses in Europe, Ermenegildo Zegna’s aura of cool is usually untouchable from season to season. For SS16, that is no understatement. Thanks to the smart luxury eye of Stefano Pilati Zegna sized up its new collection in correlation with the luxury consumer who likes to always look smart, to be frank, yet also appreciates some more alternative aspects to his wardrobe.
These choices resulted in a stylish slew of flowing suits, summer coats, draped blousons and sleek shirts that reassessed masculine identity subtly in the finest Milanese fabrics and a refreshing scattering of Japanese textiles.
Dwelling on clean colourings, Zegna was able to play around more with the construction of their menswear ensembles, melding the classic and the directional smoothly to flatter the form all the while. The ever-present lightness of the tailoring in their latest collection also saw Stefano sticking to his menswear guns, something that he is capitalising on very well, and something that should see Zegna faring very well when coming out on top of the lot.
