BIRTHED of Ibrahim Kamara and shot by Thibaut Grevet, Off-White release a new advertising campaign for SS23, off the back of their previous AW23 runway show, Celebration.
The campaign was made in collaboration with set designer Ibby Njoya and movement director Nicolas Huchard, deeply inspired by the roots of conceptual threads that played a part in the last show. These cords explored the meaning behind new beginnings and a celebration of life, leading to what was such a beautiful blend of essential aspects from Virgil Abloh’s design legacy.
Now on display is a combination of Impossible Blue, Community, Balance, Work in Progress, Seamless, and Meteor, which triggers greatness for future-forward creations.
Inside the campaign, models wear this season’s most iconic women’s and menswear designs, which include a variety of tonal garments that are visibly under construction and exaggerates a sense of movement. This is further echoed within the imagery, alongside a pursued balance impression of delicacy and meaningful strength.
The black suits throughout engage with white overstitching to promote the familiar vision of tailor’s chalk, which helps detail the muscle and organs underneath. Knitted tops and skirts introduce graphic ropelet overlays that shape the body with tonal lines and colour-blocked leather mini dresses are recurring by navel mediators, overlaid by lace.
Accessories throughout, like eyewear and shoes, follow the same ethos as the garments, specifically with the appearance of the iconic Off-White™ Spring Heel and the Katoka and Volcanite style shades.
Each of the aforementioned contribute a similar sense of sculpture, whether that be through the enveloping, chrome materials of the glasses, that juxtapose metallic and matte surfaces, or the distinct curved semi-circular heel of the footwear.
