THE PARIS Marriott Opera Ambassador Hotel provides the perfect refuge for anyone traveling for business. As a fashion editor, I touch down four times a year in the City of Light and hit the ground running with a dizzying daily schedule of runway shows, presentations, lunches, dinners and soirees to attend – all the while prepping a few photo shoots to take advantage of the always inspiring backdrop Paris provides.

With so much on my plate, I was delighted at check-in to hear that I had made it just in time for “happy hour” in the executive lounge, located on the top floor of the hotel and easily accessible with my room key card. With all the incredible bistros, boulangeries and pâtisseries lining just about every square inch of the city and my desperate need to unwind with what little free time I have in my schedule, the idea of hotel happy hour made me, well, very happy.

And so with every passing day I couldn’t resist a trip or two up to the top floor both for a hearty buffet breakfast and again for that oh so comforting aperitif hosted in the cosy penthouse, where the wine and soft drinks were free-flowing and I could grab the perfect evening snack to refuel before heading out to paint the town red.
Mornings can be challenging on these trips and the cosiest of beds in my room undoubtedly didn’t make it any easier. But that breakfast upstairs was plenty of motivation to get the busiest of days off to the right start. I certainly left on a high note (no pun intended) with plans to return very soon.
