RETURNING after a winter hiatus due to lockdown, this coming holiday season marks the homecoming of the Shangri-La The Shard’s Austrian Alps apres-ski wonderland. Brought to life by General Manager Kurt Macher, the theme translates across the hotel, its bar and dining outlets unveiling Bar 31, Afternoon Tea with an Alpine Twist and an architecture-inspired Christmas tree by Charles Holland.
Afternoon Tea at the TĪNG Lounge
Afternoon Tea at the TĪNG Lounge
From the 8 November, the Alpine Afternoon Tea begins in TĪNG Lounge with an idyllic frosty view over the capital, serving turkey and cranberry sausage rolls, the classic British scones and a variation of Austrian delicacies such as Sachertorte, Black Forest Gâteau and pretzels.
Hütte 31
Bar 31 will transform into Hütte 31, one of London’s most authentic outdoor chalet experiences with drinking and dining options. Fit with wooden chalets, “snow” and blankets to keep you warm, the hideaway will serve the likes of Nuernberger Sausage Rolls and Schnitzel whilst offering Botanist gin cocktails and alcohol-infused hot chocolates.
Christmas Lunch at the Shangri-La The Shard
Finally, for those picking the sky as their location to celebrate Christmas Day, a decadent lunch and dinner will be served in TĪNG with a menu including either Norfolk turkey or wagyu rib-eye, paired with fine wines and a variety of Christmas pudding options.
This winter, look no further than London’s Shard.
