“OUR JOB is a gamble. My parents always repeated the mantra: Be at the service of women: it is in their happiness that we can understand if we have done a good job. This longing for something beautiful, unique and well-made always leads us to new challenges”, shared the second generation creative director of the luxury footwear Maison, Cesare Casadei.
While maintaining the same maniacal attention to detail and meticulous craftsmanship that has defined the company since 1958, the designer still manages to encapsulate both heritage and innovation, and this year launches the brand into the future.
To present its SS23 collection, the brand ventured into the realms of the fashion metaverse and welcomed showcomers into a virtual space to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the iconic Blade heels.
The pair continues to evolve in that perpetual motion typical of Casadei, and this time presents itself in the form of NFT. Created in collaboration with Cesare’s daughter Arianna Casadei and Another-1, an innovative web3 platform for luxury fashion, see the heels once again set a revolutionary appearance and immerse the attendees into a “real life” experience, digitalised in a retro-futuristic metropolis among skyscrapers, mega screens and neon lights.
By opening new scopes of possibilities via these revolutionary tech mediums, Casadei is undoubtedly one of the brands paving the way for the fusion of traditional fashion with digital; nevertheless, the physical showcase of the collection appeared to be as conventionally groundbreaking.
“Tradition and experimentation, sexiness, psychedelia and avant-garde” is what this collection is all about, state the show notes. The showcase presented in a wide range of colours (including neon) and designs, from the classic to the avant-garde, and even featured a thin Scarlet heel in varying heights from the Nineties to the Fifties. All of these elements perfectly captured the futuristic spirit of the brand.
