THE APPOINTMENT of young London-based designer Maximilian Davis to the Italian Maison Ferragamo was one of the most exciting announcements in fashion in the last year. Recognised for his revealing cut-outs, body-focussed garments and sexualised aesthetic, already Davis has injected a youthful sense of irreverence and glamour, perfectly represented with his very first release for the brand.

A small selection of menswear and womenswear, the capsule perfectly preempts what is to follow in the next few months with the release of Davis’ first Spring/Summer collection. The horseshoe-like Gancini symbol replaces the heel on scrappy sandals, while the Wanda bag is updated with Davis’ signature cut outs.
Other hero pieces from ready-to-wear also make a feature, including bodysuits, sequin mesh tops and an abundance of garments in the new “Ferragamo Red.” The hotly anticipated drop is brought to life with a campaign shot by Jackie Nickerson, a series of images and mini films as equally stunning as the capsule itself.
