Givenchy releases collaboration with underground brand, (B)Stroy

LOOKING into the future of fashion, Givenchy’s Creative Director Matthew M. Williams takes on a hybrid interpretation of essential streetwear as he unveils his collaborations with the Atlanta-born, New York-based underground brand (B).STROY.

Williams and (B).STROY cofounders Brick Owens and Dieter Grams have built a long-lasting friendship bound with a shared love of fashion and contemporary art they explore through “experimental shapes and treatments with a dash of audacity”.

Projecting on the shared values, they strived to “create an experience beyond fashion that focuses on expressing individual style”. The capsule collection focuses on diversity, while inclusivity was showcased through cutting-edge materials and silhouettes along with some detailed finishing touches.

Layered colours, funky graphics and distressed effects are the essential highlights of the release. They are embellished on oversized draped t-shirts and hoodies, including the double-headed edition featured in the “American Fashion” exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Women’s accessories offered limited-edition variations of the Antigona Soft bag, decorated with metal charms, the Moon Cut-Out shoulder bag and the G-Tote with a colourful print on a denim base. A cropped pink women’s bomber is adorned with patches and Shark Lock boots festooned with symbolic charms are the following additions. Fresh interpretations of “urban essentials” also include multi-coloured low-tops, moon boots, and limited-edition caps adorned with Givenchy and (B).STROY designs.

In regards to menswear, Givenchy welcomes the return of the TK-360, this time revealing in new colour-ways, from gradient grey to blue/green and red/yellow. In addition, the collaboration offers a mint green G-Shopper tote with the Givenchy 4G emblem in royal blue on one side and (B).STROY graphics on the other and two men’s backpacks – one in a classic shape embellished with various (B).STROY patches, the other a G-xip with a new interpretation of the Givenchy emblem.
