FOLLOWING the reveal of the Gucci X The North Face collaboration last month, the anticipation to get ahold of a piece has swept across the fashion industry and lovers of the brands. Delving further into the creative journey of this project, Gucci has commissioned artist Sean Vegezzi to create a documentary to explore the corners of this outdoor adventure.

New York-based Vegezzi is taking his own passion for the outdoors to the Alps to create a film to highlight how beauty and functionality can live in harmony. Bringing the journey of idea to physical product to life, Gucci’s Creative Director Alessandro Michele and The North Face’s Design Manager of Global Collaborations and Special Projects, David Whetstone open up about working together to create this capsule collection.
A special element to this insight is the addition of the design teams, product developers and craftsman who have been given a platform to speak about their input into the collection – something the public is usually not aware of.

Flipping between images of the Dolomites in Italy to the Sierra Nevada in California, the creation and production process in the factories are highlighted, along with The North Face’s rich history in outdoor attire which slowly crept into cities and now into mainstream high fashion.
Conversations with American professional rock climber Nina Williams and graffiti artist Post AOW, who have juxtaposing interests and needs from the American company, speak about why they love the clothes.

The equilibrium between functional, long-lasting outerwear with one of the biggest fashion House’s in this collaboration has created pieces wearable to both of the brand’s audiences whilst showing each a whole new world of fashion.
