LFW SS24: Tove

TOVE, the brand helmed by Camille Perry and Holly Wright, recently presented its spring-summer 2024 collection within the brutalist walls of the Hayward Gallery.

Launching their brand in 2019, the design duo focuses on creating sustainable, ethical garments which hold timeless appeal. Utilising high-quality fabrics such as Global Organic Textile Standard-certified cotton and silk, Perry and Wright ensure their work not only looks luxurious but feels luxurious to the wearer.

Intertwining minimalism with feminine cuts and silhouettes, the SS24 offering embodies the brand’s signature codes.

With reputable public figures such as Katie Holmes, Laura Harrier, Monikh Dale and Gabrielle Union being fans of the quiet luxury brand, it’s clear that the duo’s less-is-more aesthetic is popular amongst their target market.

Contrasting the cold, harsh brutalist architecture of the gallery, the models glided down the runway in soft, delicate silhouettes. Utilising a colour palette of gentle neutral tones, the designers emphasised the practical nature of their newly-unveiled masterpieces.

Bursts of vibrant vermillion were scattered throughout the collection in the form of dainty flats or ruched silk dresses. Meanwhile, one stand-out look featured a silk chiffon skirt with a feathered hemline – a further display of the ethereal complexion of the collection.

Additionally, Perry and Wright decided to maintain an emphasis on creating garments that can be re-worn countless times. The seasonal offering included many paired-back yet refined pieces – ideal for anyone wanting to build upon their capsule wardrobe.

With the appearance of perfectly cut denim jeans on the runway, quintessential wardrobe basics were also showcased for SS24.

For quite some time Tove had been hinting at the arrival of Tove footwear, and fans were not disappointed with its debut. Babouche slippers, almond-shaped pumps and flat sandals – expertly crafted in Portugal – will soon be available to buy.

The design duo’s ability to continually release collections perfectly aligned with their customer demographic is admirable, and the brand’s ever-evolving following is a testament to this talent.

Showcasing craftsmanship, highly-considered tailoring and sleek sculpturing, the SS24 collection proved to be a highlight of the week.
