New Model Army – Glass meets Ellie Burton

Main 3Glass catches up with seventeen-year-old Norfolk-native  Ellie Burton of  Profile Model Management who hails from the seaside town of Cromer on the east coast of England. Ellie is a keen social media maven whose youth belies a mature and insightful attitude. And Glass wonders if a singing career is on the cards for Ellie.

How did you become a model?

I started modelling when I was 13 for Sandra Reynolds in Norwich, Norfolk. I got a few local things through them, including Marks and Spencers while I was still at high school. Just after my birthday, I went to London and I walked into different agencies to see if any of them would sign me. Profile Models was the second agency I walked into and I was really lucky for them to take me on, especially as I’m a midget (5’6).

Who is your favourite designer?
Prada or Dolce & Gabbana … I can’t decide, they’re both so good!

What do you wear on your days off?
Pyjamas. DUH.

What book, movie or song means the most to you?

I’m such a bookworm and always reading. I would say the book that means the most to me is Life On A Refrigerator Door. I won’t ruin it for you but anyone who loves books HAS got to read it!!!!

Who are your heroes in life?
My heroes in my life are my mum and grandmas. As they are all incredible, strong and independent women. I don’t think I would’ve been able to do half the stuff they have done and for that I look up at them.

What is your present state of mind?

Stressing … As I have a casting tomorrow that I have to sing at! (I can’t sing.)

What is your idea of happiness?
FOOD. No, joking. I would say feeling loved and content. And happy with my surroundings and who I surround myself with, and not letting negative thoughts or energy into my life.

How would you like to be perceived by others?

Kind, generous, strong. In general for people to see me as a role model.

If you were not a model, what would you be?
Criminologist or a make-up artist. Can’t decide.

What advice do you have for other models?
Be strong, grow a thick skin, stay true to yourself and never give up.
