Regent Street showed us a night out on the town yesterday evening that isn’t going to be forgotten too soon. Fashion was the focus so naturally we were all ears, eyes and the rest for the once annual #FNO, or Fashion’s Night Out in pre-Twitter parlance. Bear with us now as we track our fashionable journey through London’s landmark shopping lane.
Starting our night out on lower Regent Street, liquid refreshments at Hawksmoor made for a fabulous first pit-stop as we sampled a trio of bespoke cocktails inspired by classic dernier cri moments in fashion, and then soon-after it was onwards to sample the best fashions Regent Street has to offer. The glitzy once-annual global initiative had well and truly taken over the strip, fashion was in the air and certainly on everyone’s minds as we made our way between shopping hotspots including Wolford, Burberry, Aubaine, Anthropologie, Kiko Cosmetics, Karen Millen and many more.
It was almost impossible to squeeze it all in as we zipped from store to store, nursing champagne and embracing the essence of each retail environment. Burberry, a brand that always knows how to show its customers a good time, get’s top marks for the glittering star-studded atmosphere and charming little details like a calligrapher on-call to personalise a Burberry postcard with a moniker of your choice. Elsewhere, the party powered on into the late evening at Karl Lagerfeld, where we got our fix of the latest “haute off the press” news.
Alas, once the bevy of in-store festivities, complimentary treatments and other fashion frivolities sadly tuckered us out, we saw the evening in by taking in the remarkable neo-Art Deco surroundings at Bar Americain, whilst enjoyed a nightcap that suitably consisted of Dry Martinis and Spritz Americains. As we called in a night, we saluted London’s grandest one-stop shopping strip for throwing yet another successful Fashion’s Night Out. It’s nights like last night that make it quite clear why London’s holds its rightful spot on the fashion capital map.
