The Call of the Wild: THRIVE for Save Wild Tigers Private View

You’d of had a hard time not being wooed by the wild artwork, accompanied  rather well with a grasping tribal soundtrack, on show on Wednesday evening at the THRIVE exhibition private view launch party which took place in The Sanderson Hotel, one of the London art world’s most notable rest stop. The ferocious display of such spectacular pieces which held such stature and scope was curated by artist Lauren Baker, the leading multimedia artist, who has exhibited widely at venues including the Tate Modern, Tate Britain and  the London Design Festival and who’s worked towards assembling 20 of London’s most influential artists for an exhibition “with a vision”.

Viewable for the public from the 14th – 19th of May at the Sanderson, the inspirational collective is poised to raise funds for the global non-profit charity organization Save Wild Tigers, thanks to the fund raising dinner and charity auction being hosted at Belgravia’s Mango Tree on the 20th of May. Endorsed as effort to increment significant awareness of the Panthera plight, THRIVE’S goal to accumulate funds before it’s too late relies on the stunning contemporary sculptures, illustrations and portraiture inspired by aspects of one of the most magnificent, yet most endangered species of big cat in existence.

Glass happened to fall prey to a particular stunner at the private view, Baker’s very own Swarovski studded Crystal Tigress , her most intricate work yet, which has already garnered huge interest from many high profiles, such as charity ambassador Jimmy Choo who was in attendance on the night.

Glass was delighted to speak with Lauren Baker during the event, who told us that she was “really happy with the quality of work, and all too honoured to associate herself with the talented array of artists involved in creating such an intriguing one-off tiger-inspired exhibition”. We personally wish Lauren all the best for her valiant endeavour.
