Riedel Winewings Tasting Set

When it comes to luxury glassware, 10th generation Austrian glassmakers Riedel are masters of their craft. The new Winewings collection was born out of a request from a customer who asked for the ultimate glass for drinking Cabernet Sauvignon. Not only are the glasses aesthetic on the eye and in the hand, they offer a much more scientific functionality which comes from 12 months of trial and error. This interesting rippled shape emerged to emphasise the minerality of the wine, unlike other collections which focus on highlighting flavours of fruit.

This set of wine glasses is ideal for a true wine lover or even a simple fan of beautiful looking glassware. Creator George Riedel explains “I chose a flat and stretched bottom with a wing-like shape as it increases the surface area of the wine exposed to oxygen. This leads to greater levels of evaporation and enables a greater intensity of aroma.”Each glass in the set offers a different wine experience for Cabernet, Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay.

The Riedel Winewings Tasting Set (four glasses), priced at £110 and available here.
