The Glass guide to the best SPFs for the body

AS well as protecting your  face, it is essential for to use a good SPF on any skin that is exposed to daylight – don’t forget the hairlight and tops of ears. Here is the Glass guide to our favourites.

Bioderma Photoderm Max Mist SPF 50+

The first thing I noticed when using this fantastic suncream was the unique transparent texture, a rarity for SPF50+ protection products. When I usually use such high protection, I find myself having to rub in white marks left all over the body – an annoyance I have come to accept in exchange for such high SPF. Bioderma has provided the perfect solution with this mist! It is easy to apply, smells wonderful and can be used on the face also.

Institut Esthederm Adaptasun Body Lotion Strong Sun

Institut Esthederm Adaptasun Body Lotion Strong Sun
Using Global Cellular Protection technology, which protects from free radicals, stimulates anti-inflammatory mechanisms and preserves DNA integrity without the use of SPF, this sun lotion optimises cell protection and prevents photo-ageing like no other. The advanced formula is admittedly an avant-garde  approach to sun protection, but it is a unique take that Institute Esthederm have been developing since 1978 to allow consumers to enjoy the sun while counting on the skin’s own ability to protect itself. This product is ideal for those with sun-tolerant skin or those who are sun worshippers, like myself. It sinks into the skin like a dream and smells beautiful. Plus, it is incredibly hydrating so as someone who suffers from dry skin, I found myself applying it even when I wasn’t heading into direct sunlight.

Susanne Kaufmann Body Broad Spectrum Protection Sunscreen 25SPF

What I really like about this body suncreen from the Austrian luxury natural beauty brand powerhouse Susanne Kaufmann is that is has a very nice light, but also rich, texture that is really smooth to apply and also is absorbed quickly and easily without leaving any sticky oiliness on the skin. It also smells great – having a pleasant melon scent.

With  an SPF of 25, The Body Broad Spectrum Protection Sunscreen protects the skin from sun damage and premature ageing by deploying some very effective UVA and UVB filters made of patented cosmeceutical and organic ingredients (all in accordance with EU regulations and thoroughly dermatologically tested) so it gives great protection without using any harmful components. This waterproof sunscreen protects against skin-damaging free radicals and its ingredients also have anti-oxidising effects. The cream is suitable for all skin types – adults and children (even those with sensitive complexions).
