Y Not Festival reveals 2024 line up

CALLING all rock and indie-rock enthusiasts, Y Not Festival the annual music festival held in Pikehall, Derbyshire is back in August.

Founded in 2005 as a house party organised by Ralph Broadbent (and formerly known as the Big Gin Festival), it grew, and so much so, that a fully-fledged festival was formed. Now, it’s held over a weekend filled with music genres from rock and indie rock to dance, electro, reggae, folk and hip hop to cover all bases, and glamping so festival goers are close to the action. The ethos remains, and at the heart of it is great music and fun vibes, complete with The Big Gin Stage – an ode to its origins.

This year the Peak District will play host to headliners in the form of Manchester icon Noel Gallagher, Snow Patrol, and Jamie T over the weekend. Plus, for all the early birds arriving on Thursday, the Kaiser Chiefs will be kicking off the fun shenanigans. Coming in hot on the second row are The Kooks, Declan McKenna, The Vaccines, Jake Bugg, Frank Turner, and Katy B.

Going hand-in-hand with the music is the F&B offering, cue a whole host of themed bars, a tent packed with locally brewed ales known as ‘The Watchtower’ along with street food to soak up the booze. And, for those wanting to mix up the entertainment, there will be other experiences too, from comedy acts and paint fights to carnivals, and their in-house cinema.

In the meantime, get the party started with Y Not’s official playlist.
