DESIGNING with a purpose, Daniel Lee brings Burberry’s AW24 collection thats layered in functionality to England’s Lake District.
Captured by frequent collaborator Tyrone Lebon and featuring home-grown talent like Agyness Deyn, Adwoa Aboah, George Osborne, Lila Moss and Nora Attal, the new campaign intertwines London’s favourite faces along with the rich hues of the British countryside.
Placing emphasis on craft and technique, found across the UK from Donegal to Lochcarron, Lee brought a plethora of fabrics and techniques to the collection, honing in on the brand’s roots.
The classic trench coat got a makeover and now features moleskin, wool and leather, while field jackets are designed with more layers and duffle coats are lined with shearling for added winter protection. Kilts are elevated with the Burberry check wool, tailoring learns precision from Savile Row and jumpers lose their weight with the introduction of gauze wool.
“We were inspired by the characters who wear Burberry, and the outdoors and landscapes that are part of the brand’s heritage. The Lake District feels familiar, and it has a sense of adventure,” notes Lee, the chief creative officer.
