De Beers announce support programme for communities during Covid-19 crisis


FOLLOWING the outbreak of Covid-19, diamond and fine jewellery specialists, De Beers, have announced a support progromme. In line with the De Beers Group’s longstanding initiatives, they are set to donate $2,500,000 to communities across Botswana and Namibia.

CEO of the De Beers Group, Bruce Cleaver announced that the company “is supporting the unprecedented efforts of healthcare professionals, community leaders and all those confronting Covid-19 in the countries and communities in which we live and work.” He continued, “We have long-standing partnerships with the people of Botswana and Namibia spanning decades. The men and women of De Beers are proud to stand with them now in this moment of crisis and we will stand with them as their partners on the road to recovery and renewal.”

The company are currently in the process of developing smaller localised efforts to help support those most effected by the outbreak.
